From the grizzly intro to American Horror Story, to the musical world of Len Lye; scrach film is the animating style du jour. Join Lucy, renowned specialist in sculptural cinema, for a deep dive into the bonkers world of 16mm.
Lucy Kostos is a glass artist formerly involved in AFW – Artist Film Workshop – who teaches, screens, and celebrates the art of analogue cinema. Having shown at Carriageworks (Eora), ACCA, Ithaca House, and curated showcases at NFSA, Lucy will be hosting workshops at Testing Grounds Emporium in an intimate setting for artists, free of charge. Participants are invited to play with analogue techniques using sharpies, hole punchers, paint, to animate a short film that will then be screened at end of session.
