A love documentary, Dust is a faggy video tour of the abandoned historical site of Ken’s of Kensington. Previously The Purple Onion, the building was one of the first LGBT+ nightclub venues in NSW, becoming a gay bathhouse in the seventies (as captured in the photography of artist William Yang), and was the site of media attention in 2010, after a public political scandal and witch hunt. The venue closed in 2012, and has since been used for underground parties and raves. Layers of history, stories, bodies, party’s time and space collapse in an exploration of cultural ruination, sediment and salvage.
